EXPEDITION DETAILS AND ITINERARY

Expedition operated by the tour operator “La Cabaña de Mr Brown” in the municipality of Leguízamo, Putumayo Department.

This expedition is available year-round and operated by our local team, so you can enjoy the experience on the dates that best suit your travel plans.

It will be 5 days and 4 nights of rivers, lakes, culture, and adventure.
ITINERARY:

DAY 1: WELCOME TO PUERTO LEGUÍZAMO TOUR OF THE MUNICIPAL URBAN AREA

- Arrival at Caucayá Airport in Puerto Leguízamo.
- Ground transfer to La Cabaña de Mr. Brown and welcome.
- Check-in to rooms with either a double or single bed.
- Breakfast.
- Tour of the municipality's urban landmarks.
- Lunch.
- Honey tour, including a visit to the meliponiculture project.
- Informational talk about the region.
- Dinner.

DAY 2: INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY, CASSAVA PROCESSING, AND COCA LEAF

- Breakfast.
- Visit to the giant Ceiba tree, pink river dolphin watching.
- Lunch in the Lagartococha community.
- Participate in the preparation of fariña and casabe, essential products made from bitter cassava, and the preparation of mambe and ambil.
- Return to the urban area.
- Dinner.

DAY 3: VISIT TO THE DISTRICT OF LA TAGUA AND LA CABAÑA DE MR. BROWN RESERVE

- Breakfast.
- Ground transfer to the district of La Tagua and observation of the cattle ranching landscape.
- Journey along the Caquetá River to La Cabaña de Mr. Brown Reserve.
- Check-in.
- Lunch at the lodge.
- Visit to Peregrino Lagoon.
- Return to Mr Brown Reserve.
- Dinner at the lodge.

DAY 4: TOUR OF THE SUSTAINABLE CATTLE PROJECT AND THE JUNGLE

- Breakfast.
- Departure for a tour of the sustainable cattle ranching project.
- Interpretive jungle trail.
- Lunch.
- River transfer back to the district of La Tagua and the municipality of Leguízamo.
- Farewell dinner in Leguízamo and end of the experience.

DAY 5. DEPARTURE TO THE AIRPORT

- Breakfast.
- Transfer to the airport.

The expedition fee is non-refundable as it covers planning, organization, and reserved spaces. However, if you are unable to attend, your payment will remain as a credit available for a future visit to Puerto Leguízamo.

01HOW TO GET TO PUERTO LEGUÍZAMO?

Option 1: Flight – SATENA Airline Routes

MONDAY: Bogotá – Leguízamo (direct flight)
WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY: Bogotá – Leguízamo (flight with a stopover in Puerto Asís, Putumayo. You can also take the flight from Puerto Asís on those days).
THURSDAY: Bogotá – Leguízamo (direct flight)
SATURDAY: Bogotá – Leguízamo (flight with a stopover in Florencia, Caquetá. You can also take the flight from Florencia on that day).

Option 2: River Route (Speedboat) – Approximately 8 hours

– Scheduled speedboat service from Puerto Asís, Putumayo every day at 8:00 AM.
– Scheduled speedboat service from Florencia, Caquetá every day at 6:00 AM (departing from Puerto Arango). If you take this route, you will arrive in the district of La Tagua, where you can take a taxi to Puerto Leguízamo. The journey takes approximately 1 hour.
